Top 3 Anime in 2025 – Must-Watch Series for Every Fan

Top 3 Anime in 2025 – Must-Watch Series for Every Fan

If you're someone who enjoys immersing yourself into a new world with a great story and memorable characters, it is already a brilliant year for anime fans in 2025. No matter if you are an anime die-hard or just exploring anime for the first time, there is something unique about the very best releases from this year.

I've spent so many hours watching anime, sometimes as many as a whole weekend, and sometimes just as a form of relaxing and getting lost after a long day at work. Without a doubt, there are some anime that stick with you after the last frame. This year, the bar has been raised even higher, and the best anime are not just great because of the animation or the action, but they are incredible because of the emotion and story being told, and connections made.

So, if you're even asking yourself, "What anime should I watch right now?" Here are My Top 3 picks for 2025. These are the ones that I have watched this year, and they are the ones that fans across the globe have enjoyed, right alongside myself.

⭐ 1. Solo Leveling

  • Genre: Action, Fantasy, Adventure
  • Where to Watch: Crunchyroll, Muse Asia (YouTube)
  • Episodes: Season 1 – 12 episodes (with more added releases coming)

Let’s begin this list with the show that everyone is talking about in the anime community, Solo Leveling.

To be completely honest with you, I had read some of the original web novel a while back, but the anime was visually stunning when it was released. The animation is crazy good, the soundtrack is hype, and the main character Jin-Woo is so likable, you can’t help rooting for him!!!

The story is about a weak, unnamed hunter who is treated almost like a loser and gets into a strange incident inside a dungeon. After that incident, he is granted the ability to "level up" like a video game character, and grow stronger each day! Watching him grow from this weak and fragile fighter to being the strongest hunter in the world!!! Honestly, pretty awesome!!!

What I appreciate the most about Solo Leveling, is I believe a lot of people can relate to his struggle. We all have those moments in our live where we feel that we are insignificant or we can be overlooked. Solo Leveling takes that feeling that we all have inside and turns it into a jaw-dropping power fantasy that you simply cannot stop watching!

Why it’s one of the best shows in 2025:

  • Incredible fight choreography and worldbuilding
  • Satisfying hero's journey
  • Perfect for fans of gaming, sorcery and action.

⭐ 2. Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2 (Shibuya Arc & Beyond)

  • Genre: Supernatural, Dark Fantasy, Action
  • Where to Watch: Netflix, Crunchyroll
  • Episodes: Ongoing

This had to be on the list. Jujutsu Kaisen was already one of the most popular anime in a long time, and Season 2 — particularly the Shibuya Incident Arc — really took things to a whole new level.

I remember watching this with a couple of buddies during a late-night episode binge. We all knew that the show was great, but during a few episodes of Season 2 we fell silent, completely transfixed on the screen — you know things are serious when nobody touches the snacks!

This arc is heavy, full of action, and crazy twists that were mind-blowing. You see the characters put to the test like never before, and some of the animation sequences (particularly the Gojo fight scenes) are, to be frank, cinema-quality.

Why fans are obsessed with it in 2025:

  • Amazing emotional storytelling
  • High-stakes fights with real consequences
  • One of the best characters/villains in recent anime history

This is a demonic series that is better serialised, and even if you have not seen Season 1, I would recommend starting with Season 1 - it

⭐ 3. Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End

  • Genre: Fantasy, Slice of Life, Emotional Drama
  • Where to Watch: Crunchyroll, Bilibili TV
  • Episodes: Season 1 complete; Season 2 announced

Okay, this one is a little different from the other two, but trust me when I say - Frieren: Beyond Journey's End is one of most touching anime series I have seen in a long time. It is slow and reflective, but it also finds depth in a way that sneaks up on you.

The story follows Frieren, an elf mage, several years after her legendary hero party has saved the world. While everyone in her party has either aged or died, she remains young and is finally starting to comprehend what all of their friendship meant.

Watching Frieren go on another journey, meet new people, and quietly reflect on her past was similar to reading a beautiful poem. It is not loud and flashy, but the emotional journey is deep and very real. I watched this one on a rainy three-day weekend with a warm cup of tea and by the end, there were tears in my eyes - not because I was sad, but rather because it was gentle, kind, and human.

Why it will be must watch in 2025:

  • The beautiful, calming animation style
  • The depth of emotional themes around time, loss, and friendship
  • An honest depiction of the consequences of mortality and the fleeting nature of friendship.
